We Love Week-ends!!

Eric and I had a really good week-end. It was nice and relaxing. Those are some of the best I think! We started out Friday night by going to (I was a bum and didn't take any pictures so I improvised):

We had a $25 gift card there so dinner was quite cheap!! It was good too. Neither of us had been there in a long time. Following dinner, we made our way over to Fairfax Corner and walked around a little bit while waiting for this to start:

Both Eric and I LOVED this movie. Heath Ledger did a great job as the Joker. The only thing that I didn't like about the movie was the price we paid. I guess that's what we get for going to a movie in Virginia on a Friday night. I miss the dollar theaters in Utah.

We started out our Saturday morning by washing the following:

We hadn't washed our car in a long time. I love washing cars so we had fun. It was hot outside and the water felt great. The car looked really good. Too bad it rained the next day!!

Then we went to:

We had the best deal in town for lunch: free samples and a hot dog and soda for $1.50. Eric even spoiled me this time and bought a churro for $1!! Oh our lives are exciting!!

Eric and I then went swimming in our freezing cold pool and then went to Target. We decided to spoil ourselves and get an appetizer and bread to go from:

We got there at just the right time, because as we pulled up to order our cheesy fries, the manager was walking around the cars in line and handing out free coupons for bloomin' onions on the next visit. Yes we got one, and yes we are excited to use it!! After eating our delicious fries, we spent the rest of the evening writing our talks for the next day in Church. Those went really well, except for when I almost got electrocuted by the microphone because it was storming outside!! All in all, it was a great week-end!!

Monticello

Last Saturday Eric and I got to go to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home. It is in Charlottesville, which is about 2 hours away. It was such a beautiful day to get out and learn some American history!! We got there around one but didn't get a tour until four. We just walked around the plantation and saw some pretty neat things. Then we got to go inside of the house and it was very pretty. Unfortunately, you aren't able to take pictures inside the house so I can't post any of those. By the time we were done, we were starving, so we went to Pop-Eyes. They don't have those in Utah and I love their biscuits! If any one is ever in Virginia I suggest they make a trip down to see Monticello!

This is the view from the hill where Monticello is located. It's beautiful!

This is where Thomas Jefferson is buried. It's in a little family cemetery a little ways away from the house. Some of his ancestors are still being buried there to this day. The newest one I saw was from 2006.

This was on the gate to the cemetery. I thought it was pretty.

There were people there demonstrating what was done on the plantation. This guy is showing how the slaves made nails. It was pretty cool.

Here's a close up of Monticello. If you look at the back of a Nickel, you will see this same picture.

And, here's the last picture. Eric and I in front of Monticello. What a cute couple. I love doing fun things like this with him. We have so much fun together.

Our Happy Fourth!!

I think everybody loves the Fourth of July. Who wouldn't love a day off of work, good food and fun with friends and family?? Eric and I had a good time for our first fourth together. We started the morning off by making belgian waffles, eggs and bacon for Eric's parents, sister, aunt, uncle and cousins. They came over to our small place to eat it because the parade we went to was just right down the street. After eating we went to the Fairfax parade. It was a cute little hometown parade. The only thing that was missing was people throwing candy. Hardly anyone threw any!! After that we went with Eric's family to see Get Smart. It was a pretty good movie. I would reccomend it! Then we played some games with Eric's parents and went over to Eric's Aunt and Uncle's house for a BBQ. We had some great food. Then off we went to see the Fireworks. It had rained earlier and was still cloudy, so the smoke was just stuck in the air. You couldn't see some of the fireworks. It started to sprinkle a little bit, but it was great!!

Here are Eric and I at the parade:

Eric really likes Watermelon:

I really need to get better at taking pictures because my selection of pictures is pretty small for the fourth. I will do better... But here are Eric and I waiting to see the fireworks:

Wedding Pictures

We got our wedding picures about 3 weeks ago. I've spent a lot of time looking at them. There are 923 pictures!!! That is a lot to look through. I've posted just a few of them.
