One Year

Isn't it crazy how much things can change in just one year?  One year ago from today I went to work for 8 hours, went to the gym, oh, and found out that I was pregnant!  Today I woke up and got to spend the day with the sweetest little boy in the whole world.  Quite a change from the day I had one year previous.  I wouldn't change it for anything though.  I have the greatest job ever.

After we found out the good news one year ago

My little boy today!

Having fun playing on the floor!
I had no idea one year ago how my life would change and how much love I would feel for this little man.  He truly has blessed me and Eric's lives in so many ways and I am so grateful that I get to be his mom.  He makes me smile so much.  His laugh and smile melt my heart.  Seeing him and Eric play is the sweetest thing ever.  I want to lock all of these memories away forever.  I guess that's what journals and pictures are for huh?  I've been reflecting on all kinds of things today.  The past year wasn't the easiest one ever.  Pregnancy wasn't the easiest thing, neither was child birth, but all of it was worth having my little Travis Allan.  I'm so glad that I found out he was coming to me just one year ago today.

Life is good :)

Thanksgiving Pumpkins

I guess it's pretty obvious that I'm way behind on my blogging, but this I had to share.  We didn't get around to carving pumpkins this past Halloween but we already bought the pumpkins, so we carved them for Thanksgiving.  Clever, I know!

It's a cornucopia and hand turkey in case you couldn't tell.

Burp Rags

My sister-in-law and a family friend made me some burp rags for Travis.  I really like them and decided that I wanted to try and make some as well.  Now I'm not much of a sewer.  Pretty much everything I've sewn my mom was right next to me telling me what to do.  Since she isn't here I had to do it on my own.  I knew that burp rags couldn't be that hard, so I called her up for some advice, and then got to sewing.  They took me a lot longer than I thought they would, mostly due to the special stitches I did, but they turned out really cute and I had fun.  I gave them to two of my friends who were having girls, hence the pink!  I think I need to sew more often.  I wish I would have taken advantage of my mom's sewing knowledge when I was living at home...

Look closely at some of the pictures and you can see the cute stitches.  I'm happy with my work!!

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving my parents and sister came into town, and my little brother lives here already.  It was a lot of fun.  I'm glad that we live in a bigger place now so that people can actually come visit and stay with us.  My sister came a few days early to hang out with me, meet little Travis and to help me get things ready.  It was so fun to just spend some time with her.  On Thanksgiving my mom helped me make my first turkey ever (she did most of the work) and it turned out delicious!  We had all of the traditional Thanksgiving foods, and were all stuffed!!  We got to use our nice dishes for the first time too.  Eric's parents were storing them for us for the past few years and we finally got them out here.  I felt so fancy using our nice stuff!!  I don't know what else to say about it other than it was a nice relaxing day.  Oh how I love the holidays...

My older brother was also in Utah for Thanksgiving, but he was with my sister-in-laws family for the actual holiday. We did get to see him and his family the Sunday before Thanksgiving when they were driving through.  They stayed with us for the night.  It was crazy but I loved it.  Travis got to meet all of his cousins.  My little niece Abbie (she's 2) loves babies so she was so excited to meet Travis.  She calls him baby "Gavis", so we all call him that now too.  She was so nice to him.  I had him laying in his little bouncy chair and she kept going over to him and putting blankets on him and stuff.  Such a good little mommy.  She also kept wanting to hold him.  Eric would try and help her hold him.  It was funny.  She wanted to do it all by herself, but she's not quite big enough for that.  After Thanksgiving his family came down again and we went to the Provo Beach Resort here in Provo.  It's this indoor play place that has arcade games, bowling, a ropes course, mini golf, a surfing thing, and so much more.  The kids loved it.

It was so nice to be able to see all of my side of the family for Thanksgiving.  I wish we all lived closer.  Maybe someday...

Cute Little Jacket

Back in November I went shopping for Christmas.  I was in Gap and couldn't control my urge to go look at their baby stuff.  This little gem immediately caught my eye and I couldn't resist (he needed one anyways).  Doesn't he look scrumptious??
