Let me preface this post by saying that I have tried to convince Eric to go skiing for years. He always says that it's too expensive, etc... Well, last Friday Eric and I both had the chance to go to Sundance for free. I will explain why in a later post. Since it was free, Eric had no excuses. He told me he would try because he knows how much I like to go. What a sweet boy! So Thursday night we went and rented him some skis for $12 at Outdoors Unlimited here at BYU (what a deal) and borrowed my brothers ski stuff. Friday morning we went up to the mountain and after a delicious free breakfast, we hit the slopes. Let's just say that Eric's first time skiing was not the highlight of his life. Like any first time skier or snowboarder, Eric fell a few times. I tried to teach him what to do, but let's face it, I'm not a ski instructor. I couldn't really put into words what I was doing and how to do it. Eric gave it a try and then decided that he would like to take a lesson. I was surprised at that. I thought he would never want to go again! So, hopefully over Christmas break we'll get him a ski or snowboarding lesson and he'll soon be a pro!
I actually quite enjoyed the day even though I was alone most of the time. It wasn't crowded at all, which was nice. I hadn't been skiing in almost 4 years so it was great to do it again. I can't wait to go again!

Oh I can totally relate! Kevin wants to go and I don't because I went once and it was horrible because I fell down all the time. Eric's a better sport than me if you can convince him to go again.
