SUMMER!!

Happy first day of Summer everyone!  I sure love this time of year.  I usually want it to go as slow as possible, but this year I'm hoping for Fall to come quickly.  By the time Fall starts this year, I will be one year older and a mother!  Crazy.  I hope you all have great summers filled with many adventures!

Also, I need to give a shout of to my fantastic mother-in-law.  Today is her birthday!!  Happy Birthday Patty.  I hope you are having a wonderful day.  I wish Eric and I could be in North Carolina celebrating with you.

Pinterest

A week or so ago, I read on a friends blog (thanks Katie!) about how frustrating it can be to find something online that you like, but you don't really know what to do with the link.  I can totally relate!  Usually I just e-mail myself the link and then keep it in a folder in my Inbox.  Now this does work, but then I have to go through all the folders and e-mails, and it's just not very effective.  Well, thanks to Pinterest, this will no longer be an issue.

Basically what Pinterest is is a website where you can post all of your favorite links and organize them into categories, such as food, style, crafts, etc.  You can make your own categories so it's really an organizing tool for everybody!!  I had my friend Katie invite me to it, and have had fun playing around a little bit.  I haven't done much yet, but I intend on using this A LOT!!  It's pretty much awesome.  You can look at my page here (like I said, I haven't done much yet!)  If you want to be invited please leave a comment with your e-mail address.

Oh, and one great thing is that when you sign up, it links to your Facebook and you automatically start following your friends who are already on Pinterest.    It's nice to follow people because you can get great ideas from them and vice versa.

Happy Pinning!

Working Up a Sweat

I really enjoy working out, always have.  However, since I was about 8 weeks pregnant, I really haven't been working out.  The nausea, throwing up, tiredness, etc. made me kinda lazy.  Plus it was cold outside and after getting home from work the last thing I wanted to do was to go back out into the cold.  Well, the weather is finally warming up and I feel a lot better than I felt back then.  Eric and I have been going on walks at night, which have been really great, but I felt like I needed a little more.  Plus, we have this wellness challenge going on at work, and I have to count my steps every day.  Let's just say it's sad.  Last year during this challenge I was training for my triathlon and I killed it!  Well, I decided to change that this past Tuesday.  I was sitting at work thinking about how I want to be in shape after this little guy comes, and that the more I do now, the easier it will be then.  I was determined to go to the gym that day and use the elliptical.  I'm not really a fan of ellipticals but running on a treadmill is just out the of question.  It hurts my tummy!  I decided to run for 30 minutes to see how it goes.  The first 3 minutes were fine, and then my legs starting to get really tired.  My legs are the strongest part of me, so it was weird!  I was taking it easy because I'm short of breath these days.  Now those of you who know me pretty well, know that I'm quite competitive.  There was this girl next to me who was running so fast!  Usually I would try to match the person's speed or go a little faster.  I just had to not pay attention to her and concentrate on taking it easy and not dieing.  Well, I made it through the 30 minutes.   This is how I felt:

I was SO tired!!  I felt like I had run a marathon or something.  My legs felt like Jell-O when I got off to walk and I was SO hungry.  I made it to the car and scarfed down my snack.  I drove home, and by the time I got there I was a little shaky.  Good thing Eric was making me dinner!  Once I got more food in me I felt much better.  However, I was exhausted the rest of the night.  My body wasn't used to that much movement.  It's sad but true.  Well, my goal is to now make it to the gym 3 times a week and to continue taking my walks.  I know to never push myself too hard, but I want to get moving!!  Plus, I know that exercise is good for you while pregnant and I hear it makes birth much easier on you.  Um, why wouldn't I want to work out then?

So, I'm putting it out there for the blogging world to know.  Now I feel accountable to more than just Eric and Emily (the two people I've told)!  This means I have to stick to it!  I'll let you know how it goes.

Bump Update

I thought it was about time to update my baby bump pictures on here.  So, here you are, weeks 20-24.  You can definitely tell I am getting bigger!  I hope not too big though.  I don't want to be huge when I'm 8 months pregnant!

Also, here's a quick update on the pregnancy so far.  I definitely have much more energy in the second trimester, however the nausea has NOT gone away.  It has gotten a little better, but oh how I wish it would just go away.  This little boy kicks me ALL OF THE TIME!!!  I love feeling his little kicks, but not necessarily when I'm trying to fall asleep.  I love that other people can feel them now too.  It's such a neat thing.  It is now getting harder to stand up, especially when sitting on our deep couch.  Oh, and bending over is becoming a task too.  I can still do it, but it's just not very comfortable!  Overall, I feel ok, and LOVE the fact that we have a little boy on the way.  Now if only we could figure out his name.  We still have time though...

Week 24

Vail, CO

Two week-ends ago Eric and I drove out to Vail, CO for a short, last minute trip.  My parents have a time share up in Breckenridge and had to use one of their weeks before June 1 or they would lose it.  Breckenridge was full so they traded their time for a condo in Vail.  My parents invited us up, but we weren't sure if we were going to go or not.  Finally we decided we needed a little week-end getaway, so we made the 5.5 hour drive and hung out with my parents and my brother.  My sister was out of town that week-end so we weren't able to see her.  Too bad!  We were only there for two days, but we sure had fun.  We went to a ski museum, ate delicious food, swam in the pool (Eric and Jason spent most of their time in the sauna and steam room), played games, played racquetball, enjoyed the beautiful scenery and walked around downtown Vail. Oh, can I just say that hot tubs when you're pregnant are torturous??  The pool wasn't that warm so all I wanted to do was get in the hot tub and warm up.  Well, I couldn't do that, so I just sat on the edge warming up just my legs.  Torture I tell you!  Thanks Mom and Dad for the fun getaway and thanks to my sweet husband for driving me there.

Wedding!

On May 7 one of Eric's best friends, Sean, got married in the Salt Lake City temple.  It was a beautiful wedding.  Eric has known Sean since his Freshmen year at BYU.  Eric, Sean and two other guys, Ryan and Craig, all lived together after their missions for 2+ years.  They've all been to each others weddings (Sean was the last one to get hitched) which is pretty fun.  It was a great day to be with friends and to see how happy Sean and Caitlin are.  Congratulations you two!

All of us friends there, except for Amber.  She was taking the picture.
