SUPERBOWL!!!

Superbowl Sunday's has got to be one of the best Sports Days of the year! Who doesn't like to hang out with good friend, eat delicious food, watch a good Football game, with great commercials, and well just have fun? I sure like all of those things. For the past two years, Eric's roommates had Superbowl parties. This year was not an exception. This year we only had nine people over: Ryan, Amber, Sean, Eric, me, Steve, April, Mike, and Carol. It was still fun with smaller numbers. I think my favorite part is planning for the food. Amber and I usually take care of this part of the day, and this year I think we did an excellent job. We thought we hadn't planned for enough food, and then once we got together, ,we realized that we had PLENTY!!! Here is a list of the food that we had: Taquitos, BBQ Beef Sandwiches, Meatballs, Seven Layer Bean Dip, Artichoke/Spinach Dip, Chili Cheese Dip, Crab Salad, Peanut Butter Bars, Football shaped Rice Krispy Treats, Chips and Soda. It was a lot of food. We were all so sick after eating it all, but it was so worth it! The game was great, even though we all wanted the Cardinals to win. The commercials were pretty good too. We were even in for a nice treat when there was an hour long office on!!! It was great! Here is a little slide show to prove that we had fun:

Basketball!

A week ago on Saturday, I finally went to witness Eric in action as a Sports Writer. He's done it a few times now, but I never go with him, because unless someone wants to go, then I would have to sit alone. Also, he has to go a half an hour early anf stay for the press conference afterwards. So our friends Ryan and Amber came with me, and I got to see Eric sitting so close to the players. Lucky guy! Eric is really enjoying writing for the Daily Universe. He likes it so much in fact, that he is hoping to get an internship this summer to do communications for the Basketball team. Anyways, here is a picture of Eric in action:

He is the third from the left sitting down. He is wearing a white shirt. I was pretty far away so the picture isn't great. I think it's time for a better camera...

2009 Car Show

On Friday night we went with Kirsten and Aaron to the 2009 car show at the South Towne Expo center. We of course stopped at Five Guy's for dinner, and found out that they are opening one in Provo in March. We could not have been any more excited! Then we were off to the show. The car show is just a big room with all of the different brands of car showing off their newest models. You can get inside of all of the cars to see if you like them or not. They have some drawings to win cars and other things, and they also have a section of really old and really expensive cars. I think I dreamed about all of the cars that I wanted that night. The following are all of the cars that I would not mind taking home (this is in my dream world BTW):
1. Acura TSX - Eric labeled this the sexy car, which it is
2. Scion tC - this cute little car has two sun roofs
3. Lincoln Navigator - this car had a drop down step... really cool
4. My all time fav the Toyota Highlander Hybrid, this one will be a reality one day!
5. Lexus RX 350 - very nice SUV!
6. Mercedes Benz C-class
7. the list could go on and on... but there are just a few.

Ok, here is a list of the cool/interseting cars, that I could never afford or want:
1. Maserati
2. Ferrari
3. Bentley
4. Smart Car aka Death Trap

We had a great time sitting in all of these cars and dreaming of the day when we might be able to actually afford one...:)

My Husband is a stud!

So this year for school Eric is taking a News Reporting class or something like that. On the first day of class they had to write down what they would like to report on for the Daily Universe (the newspaper at BYU.) Eric's first choice was Men's Basketball and that's what he got. The next day he had to jump right in it by going to the basketball game, sitting with the journalists, going to the press conference afterwards and then writing an article about the game. The best part about it is that he gets a parking pass so that he can park close by! So far he has had 3 articles published with a couple more coming this week. If you would like to see his articles, you can go to the following website: http://newsnet.byu.edu/section.cfm/home and then search eric's name. I am really proud of him!

Happy January!

Once again it has been almost a month since I blogged last. Since that time, Eric and I have had a lot of fun. We went to California for Christmas to visit with my family. We got there on Christmas Eve. I had to work that day until 2, so our flight left at 4:45. Unfortunately our plan got delayed by two hours because of low visibility in San Fran. I'm just glad that we got there on Christmas Eve. My older brother Chris was there with his wife Kristen and their two boys Matt and Tyler. We are trying to get on the same holiday schedule as them so that we can spend some time with them. Along with my parents, my sister and my grandma and grandpa DeLange were there. We had a fun time, but the trip was far too short. I had to get back to work. New Years we spent with our great friends Kirsten and Aaron. We play two intense games of Ticket to Ride and ate a whole lot of delicious food. I got the two days after New Years Eve off so Eric and I got to have fun taking down Christnas decorations and spending some quality time together. We even got to take a trip to Ikea and Cabella's. Eric is on this new thing with wanting a shot gun. We he always has wanted one but he vocalizes it a lot more now. So we got to look at some guns. Fun times! I was really bad at taking pictures over the holiday, so I'll just have to post the ones that I have. All in all, we had a great holiday season!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

So today I went to work at 8, and about an hour later the snow just started falling. There were huge snowflakes coming down and the ground and trees were just covered in white. It was so pretty. Over lunch there had to be about 6 inches. All I know is that ballet flats without socks was not a good idea when walking through fresh now! So about an hour after I got back from lunch, I received an e-mail stating that the University was closing down due to the weather so that the employees could get home safely. Eric came to get me and then we went home. The snow just kept coming and coming. Eric and I decided that we wanted to take some pictures of it. We went outside just for a few minutes and played in it. This snow is the PERFECT snow for snowballs and forts!! I was so ready to play. I made a few snowballs and threw them at Eric... and he did the same. It was fun... and here's the proof of the pretty snow!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

One day early in December Eric and I were thinking about what kind of Christmas Tree to get. We were thinking about getting a fake one because then we wouldn't have to store it. Well we went to look at them only to realize that little trees cost like 30 dollars. That was as much as this tree from Wal-Mart that's 6.5' and pre-lit... so we decided to go fake. It actually looks quite nice and will last us a few years. We bought a few bulbs at Wal-Mart but not too many because Eric and I both have ornaments from going up. We only have Eric's right now, but all of mine will be on there soon. We tied a cute little bow on the top... and we have a cute little tree. I actually really like it. It reminds me of my tree from home. We may need to get an actual tree topper for next year, but I think it's a great tree for our 1st Christmas. We did such a great job. Oh, and the tree skirt was $1 from the Dollar Store. Gotta love it!! What a Pretty tree!!!

Temple Square

Two week-ends ago, a few of us couples got together to go up to Temple Square to see the lights. Before going up there we stopped at Five Guys (yes we like to eat there) and then headed up to Salt Lake. After searching for a spot for what seemed like hours, we finally got there. We walked around and took a few pictures. The lights are absolutely amazing. The trees are covered in lights. Someday I would like my trees to look like that! Then we walked over to Starbucks to get some carmel apple ciders. That did the trick. We were all a little cold. It was a nice little trip. It was nice to get out and walk around in such a beautiful place. We got about every year, but every year it is still worth it!!

Festival of the Trees

After getting back from VA, our good friends Kirsten and Aaron called us up and asked us to go to the Festival of the Trees with them. I had never heard of it, but it sounded like fun, so we said we would. After going to eat at delicious Five Guys (if you don't know what it is... ask us and we'll take you) we headed up to the SouthTown Expo Center and saw some amazing Gingerbread houses and Christmas Trees. There were so many trees there that were all decorated so nicely. People get to buy the trees and anything that comes with it, and the money gets donated to a children's hospital or something. It's a pretty cool thing that they do. The whole place was filled with Christmas stuff... including food. Here is a glimpse of what we saw:

Had my camera not died, I would have taken a lot more pictures. There were a lot of amazing trees. What a fun night we had!

Thanksgiving!

So maybe it's a little late to blog about Thanksgiving, but oh well. We actually went to Virginia for the holiday. Eric and I flew to Virginia the day before. We spent the evening with his family and went to eat at Sweetwater Tavern for Eric's birthday. The food was excellent. We then had some Boston Cream Pie for his Birthday. The next day was Thanksgiving, so the morning was spent preparing for the FEAST!!! Eric's Aunt and Uncle came over with his three cousins. We had a lot of good food!! Shortly after we finished eating, we ran over to the movie theater to see Bolt. It was such a cute movie. I would recommend it to anyone!! After that movie, just Eric's immediate family, which includes me as well, ran to a different movie theater to see James Bond. That one was good as well. The next day we got up and went to Mount Vernon, which was George Washington's house. It was very pretty and quite large for that time. The house is right on the Potomac River. It has a great view! Later that evening, we all went in to DC to go see a Jazz concert put on by the Washington National Symphony. The had the US Army Jazz AMbassadors there along with other performers. That was a very good concert. Jazz music is quite enjoyable. The next morning Patty, Carly and I went off and had a little girl shoppng too. Those are always fun. We got a few new crafts to do and Christmas dresses! It was a very productive trip! That evening we all got decked out in Green and Gold and headed off to a George Mason basketball game. His family all loves going to those games! The team won, which is always a plus! Then we all went home and played some games. I won't go too much into that because I am still a little bitter about the outcome! The next day we all got to help set up their Christmas tree and put all their decorations up around the house. I love Christmas, so this was a fun thing for me. Later that afernoon we were off to the airport... and back to Utah. The vacation was far too short, but very enjoyable!! Here are some pictures of our visit to Mount Vernon:
